Bachelor of Science in Nursing

On completion of the programme, the BSc in Nursing graduate will

  • Acquire and update knowledge related to the practice of the nursing profession.
  • Utilize the knowledge and concepts gained to provide holistic care to individuals / family / significant others.
  • Plan and meet the health needs of individuals / family in collaboration with health team members and the concerned individual and his family (significant others).
  • Provide supportive care to clients with chronic and terminal illnesses.
  • Intervene appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Provide care for clients and their significant others in a skillful, empathetic, supportive, compassionate and meaningful manner.
  • Motivate individual / family / community to accept and adapt healthy life-style practices in accordance with the cultural background of the individual/ family/ community.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skill to provide accurate, timely information and educate client / family about health issues to improve their health status.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with members of the society.
  • Assume responsibility to utilize opportunities to maximize self-development and professional growth.
  • Always uphold the dignity of the nursing profession.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making abilities.
  • Contribute to the development of their peers and other health care personnel.
  • Evaluate his / her own nursing performance in relation to standards set by the nursing institute.
